Jump Ropes

Great project!

You’ll need 3 adult-size T-shirts for this project and a pair of scissors. That’s it!

2 – in neutral colors of gray, black or tan/khaki/brown
1 – in a bright color (green, red, blue, yellow, orange, etc).

First, cut up the shirts into strips. (Save that collar piece, you’ll need it, too.)

To get started, tie the three ends together in a tight knot …

Start braiding …

Continue braiding …

And when you reach the end, tie another knot, and that’s it, now you have a jump rope!

You can use the leftover piece from around the collar for a tie to keep the jump rope cleaned up and tidy when you are not using it. No waste!

Handwork that Helps has sent hundreds of these jump ropes to children across the world.

If you’d like to help with this project, either by donating T-shirts or braiding jump ropes, please let us know, or stop by on any Friday at First Baptist Church in Nacogdoches (9 -11) and ask at the office for help with finding Handwork that Helps.
